I have spent more than 20 years fighting for the rights of workers and learners. As we embark on this campaign trail, it's crucial to reflect on the vital importance of unions in shaping our communities and advocating for the well-being of all residents.

Championing Workers' Rights

I’m from a union family. That experience directly shaped our values and my career. At the core of the union movement lies a fundamental principle: the belief that every worker deserves fair treatment, dignity, and respect in the workplace. Unions have been instrumental in securing essential rights and protections for workers, including fair wages, safe working conditions, and access to healthcare and retirement benefits. 

Building Economic Security

Unions play a pivotal role in building economic security for working families. By negotiating with employers for higher wages and better benefits, unions help ensure that workers can provide for themselves and their loved ones. Additionally, unions advocate for policies that promote economic justice, such as raising the minimum wage and closing the gender pay gap.
